Relief: Just like us, dogs sometimes feel lighter and relieved after “doing their business.” That sudden comfort can trigger a burst of energy.
Instinct: In the wild, dogs didn’t want predators to find them by scent, so running off after pooping was a survival instinct.
Nerves/Excitement: Some dogs feel vulnerable while going potty, so once they’re done, they run off with excitement or nervous energy.
Sheer Joy: Sometimes it’s just happiness — they feel good, so they sprint!
If you’ve ever seen a dog get the “poop zoomies,” you know exactly what I’m talking about. After J-Roc does his business, he takes off like a rocket — running wild through the yard with a burst of crazy energy!
Why does he do it? It’s actually pretty common:
✅ Relief after going
✅ Instinct to run from the “scent”
✅ Pure happiness and energy
Honestly, it’s one of those funny little quirks that make dogs so lovable (and unpredictable ). But having good nutrition definitely helps keep his tummy — and energy — in balance.
That’s why I love We Feed Raw
. Their pre-portioned, raw meals are designed for dogs’ natural digestion, which means less tummy trouble and more healthy zoomies.
